Dog Training and Behaviour Modification in Montreal
Trainer: Daria Rylkova
My approach to dog training and behaviour modification is holistic and personalized to meet the needs of each dog and family. My goals are to show you how to build a fulfilling relationship with your dog, and have a companion who thrives in your family and community, by teaching leadership, communication skills and most importantly, how to have fun with and motivate your dog!
Whether you’re just in the planning stages, have recently added a puppy to your family, adopted an older dog, or are having behavioural challenges with your current dog or dogs, I am here to help you and your dog reach your full potential!
Some of the behaviours I address are: settling and relaxation (being calm and polite) when attention isn’t given (indoors/outdoors), polite greetings, doorway manners, obedience (sit, down, place, recall, wait, leave it, drop it, heel), loose-leash walking, tug/fetch with rules, separation anxiety, fear of people, dogs or environment, reactivity on leash, aggression and more.
Play is a set of rewarding, biologically-programmed behaviours, shared by diverse species including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Play is not only an important part of establishing a relationship with your dog, it can also be indispensable to working through behavioural challenges as well as advanced training. As such, play serves as a key component of my holistic approach to training and behaviour modification. The above videos show me playing with my dog, Ella, mid-summer and mid-winter, while practising a few of the behaviours she knows (sit, down, heel, leave it, drop it).
