In 1957, Laika was the first animal to orbit the earth aboard Sputnik 2. While she did not survive the mission, she provided scientists with valuable data, which would later allow for human spaceflight.

Laika Dog Training is named in her honour as well as to recognize the immeasurable impact dogs have had on our way of life. Whether as companions, hunters, protectors and much more, I am forever grateful for the enormous contributions and sacrifices of this unique species.
